Get My AI Side Summarizer on your phone

AISS now runs on Android too — instantly summarizing PDF and Word (DOCX) documents right from your phone, with nothing ever uploaded to a third-party server. It uses your own free Gemini API key (plus optional Groq as an instant backup), so there's no subscription fee.

Step 1

Install the app

  1. 1

    Open Chrome on your phone

Then type the following address in the address bar: app.aisidesummarizer.com

  2. 2

    Tap the three-dot icon (⋮)

In the top-right corner of Chrome, next to the address bar.

  3. 3

    Select "Add to Home screen"

(or "Install app" if that's what appears — both do the same thing).

  4. 4

    Tap "Install" or "Add"

On the confirmation prompt that appears.

  5. 5

    Done!

The My AI Side Summarizer icon will appear on your home screen or app drawer, ready to open anytime like any other app.

This is completely free and doesn't go through the Play Store — the app installs directly from your browser (this is called a Progressive Web App).

Step 2

First-time setup (API key)

The first time you open the app, it will ask for a Gemini API key — this is what powers the AI, and it's entirely free from Google.

  1. 1

Tap "Get a free Gemini API key at AI Studio"

Inside the app. You'll be taken to Google's official AI Studio site.

  2. 2

Log in with your Google account

Then tap "Create API Key". Your key is generated and copied automatically.

  3. 3

Go back to My AI Side Summarizer

Then tap the "📋 Paste" button next to the Gemini API Key field — the key you just copied will fill in automatically.

  4. 4

(Recommended) Repeat for Groq API Key

Via the "Get a free Groq API key" link — Groq automatically steps in as a backup whenever Gemini is busy or has hit its daily limit.

  5. 5

    Tap "Save & Start"

The app is now ready to use.

Good to know

  • Your API key stays on your phone only. It's never sent to our servers — it's used solely to communicate directly with Google/Groq.
Step 3

How to summarize a document

There are two ways to use the app — pick whichever is more convenient.

Option A — Choose a file directly

  1. Open My AI Side Summarizer from the icon on your home screen.
  2. Tap the "Tap to choose a PDF or DOCX" box, then select a document from your phone's storage.
  3. Wait a few seconds — the summary will appear right on screen, ready to copy ("Copy" button).

Option B — Share directly from another app (faster)

  1. Open WhatsApp, Gmail, or any other app containing the PDF/DOCX document you want to summarize.
  2. Tap the "Share" button on that document (usually an arrow icon or three-dot menu next to the file).
  3. Select "My AI Side Summarizer" from the list of apps to share with.
  4. The summary appears automatically within a few seconds — no need to open the app first.

Either way, you get a clean breakdown with an overview and clearly organized key points — and it works in whatever language you need:

Security & privacy

  • Your API key is stored locally on your phone only — it is never sent to or stored on our servers.
  • The content of documents you summarize is sent directly to Google (Gemini) or Groq for processing — it never passes through or is stored on our (ELCEE) servers.
  • The app does not request access to your contacts, location, camera, or any other personal data.
  • Since it isn't installed via the Play Store, Chrome/Android may show a standard prompt during the first install — this is normal for any Progressive Web App installed directly from the web, not a sign of anything unsafe.
🍎 iOS support is on the way. We'll update this page the moment it's ready — check back soon.
